=== Memphis Grizzlies Team Report - March 8 ===

(Basketball News) - Bonzi Wells finished with 18 points to lead Memphis to a 95-85 win over Golden State on Sunday at The Arena.

Jason Williams scored 17 points for the Grizzlies, who notched their fifth straight victory. Shane Battier contributed 15 points and Pau Gasol posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Williams scored 13 points to spark a 30-7 flurry for Memphis, which overcame a 60-48 deficit late in the third quarter. Battier capped the surge on a jumper with 33 seconds remaining in the third to put the team ahead 78-67.

Mickael Pietrus hit two foul shots with 12 seconds to go in the quarter that cut the Warriors’ deficit to 78-69.

Early in the fourth quarter, a dunk by Jason Richardson got Golden State within 80-71. But they got no closer. Memphis ballooned its advantage to 89-74 on a basket by Wells with 5:14 to play.

With the win Memphis, which improved to 16-16 away from home this season, remained in sixth-place in the Western Conference standings, just a half-game back of the Dallas Mavericks.

The Grizzlies will return to action on Tuesday when they host the San Antonio Spurs in the start of a brief two-game homestand that will conclude against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.
