(Basketball News) - Pau Gasol led the way for Memphis with 28 points and seven rebounds, as the Grizzlies handed the Orlando Magic their seventh straight loss with a 107-97 triumph on Wednesday at the TD Waterhouse Centre.
James Posey scored 24 points and Jason Williams had 11 points and nine assists, as Memphis won its second consecutive game after dropping its previous three.
Memphis held a two-point lead after three quarters, and the score remained tight until the Grizzlies started to pull away with seven minutes to play.
Gasol mailed a basket to tie the game at 89 apiece, and when Jake Tsakalidis followed with a free throw, and Williams and Posey hit consecutive threes, it sent Memphis on a 15-0 run. That stretch put the game out of reach at 102-89 with just over two minutes to go.
Gasol and Posey each scored 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Memphis was without the services of Stromile Swift, who missed his second straight game
The Grizzlies are off until Saturday when they host the Dallas Mavericks.
