(Basketball News) - Pau Gasol poured in 37 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to lead Memphis over Cleveland, 122-115, in double overtime on Saturday at Gund Arena.
Shane Battier added 22 points and 12 boards for the Grizzlies, who overcame a 24-point deficit to snap a three-game slide.
The Cavaliers led 114-113 with 3:29 left in the second overtime on a three- pointer by LeBron James. But the Grizzlies responded with a 9-1 burst to end the game and emerge victorious.
Gasol put Memphis up for good with a two-point field with three minutes remaining and Stromile Swift scored on the team’s next possession to give the Grizzlies a 117-114 edge.
In fact, Memphis ended the final 22 minutes on a 58-35 run to win the game after falling behind right from the start.
The Grizzlies are off until Tuesday when they visit the Boston Celtics.
