Milwaukee Bucks Team Report - November 11 11.11.2004

(Basketball News) - Desmond Mason came off the bench and poured in a game- high 31 points and Michael Redd scored 26, as the Milwaukee Bucks rallied to beat the Charlotte Bobcats, 102-100, on Wednesday at the Bradley Center.
Keith Van Horn netted 23 and Maurice Williams added eight with 10 boards for the Bucks, who have won two straight. Joe Smith contributed seven points and 10 rebounds in the win.
In a tightly contested fourth quarter, a jumper by Jason Hart pushed the Charlotte margin to 96-92 with under four minutes left. However, Milwaukee followed by going on a 9-2 spurt, capped by a Redd free throw, to claim a 101-98 lead with under one minute left.
On the Bobcats’ ensuing possession, Redd fouled Hart, who converted both free throws to pull the Bobcats within 101-100. The Bucks then committed a shot- clock violation on their next possession and the Bobcats had one last shot at the win.
However, Steve Smith’s three-point attempt hit the front of the rim with nine seconds remaining and Mason, who scored all of his points in the final period from the foul line, grabbed the rebound. He was fouled with 3/10ths of a second left, and sank 1-of-2 free throws to preserve the win.
Milwaukee ended 35-of-43 from the free throw line in the win over Charlotte.
Redd has averaged a team-high 24.3 points in Milwaukee’s first three games of the season, while Van Horn has netted 19.7 points and has grabbed a team-best 9.3 boards per game.
The Bucks are off until Saturday when they host Baron Davis and the New Orleans Hornets. Last season, the Hornets won three-of-four from Milwaukee. This season the teams meet just twice because the Hornets are now in the Western Conference. The teams are also scheduled to meet on March 12, 2005 at New Orleans.
