Milwaukee edges Portland in OT

Ruben Patterson had 26 points and seven boards while Maurice Williams added 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Bucks, who have won two of their last three games.

"I had fun out there," said Patterson. "Every time I play my former team, I just got a little to prove."

Jarrett Jack netted a career-high 30 points and dished out 10 assists and Zach Randolph chipped in 20 points and grabbed 14 boards for the Blazers, who have lost six of their last seven games.

Tied at 86, the Bucks opened the extra session on a 10-2 run, including four points apiece from Redd and Patterson, for a 96-88 lead and they never looked back.

"We didn’t deserve to win this game," said Portland head coach Nate McMillan. "We had an opportunity to win this ball game. That ball fell out for a reason. If you don’t play the game the right way, that will come back and hurt you."

Trailing 84-80 with 2:43 on the clock, Jack drained a three, but Patterson’s hook shot on the other end made it an 86-83 with under two minutes left.

However, Ime Udoka’s shot from long distance evened the score. Randolph had a chance to win the game, but his jumper rimmed out as time expired.

Leading 9-8, Portland reeled off a 14-4 run, including a pair of treys from Martell Webster, for a 23-12 margin. The Trail Blazers led 23-14 after the opening stanza.

Webster’s three-pointer extended the margin to 30-24, but the Bucks moved in front with seven straight points, capped by Steve Blake’s three, for a 31-30 edge. The second quarter continued to move back and forth, as Portland held a slim 38-37 lead at the half.

Redd’s jumper put the Bucks up by five, 45-40, but the Blazers tallied nine of the next 11 points, highlighted by Randolph’s three-point play, for a 49-47 advantage.

Jack’s layup as time expired in the third narrowed the gap to 59-58 heading into the fourth quarter.
