(Basketball News) - Latrell Sprewell scored 22 points and Kevin Garnett contributed 21 points and 17 rebounds, as the Minnesota Timberwolves pounded the Orlando Magic, 100-71, at TD WaterHouse Centre.
Fred Hoiberg had 12 points and Sam Cassell chipped in 11 points and nine assists for the Timberwolves. Mark Madsen added 11 points and seven boards for Minnesota, which halted a two-game skid.
The Timberwolves carried a 53-37 lead into the locker room at halftime. Sprewell ended with 10 points in the first half.
In the third quarter, Sprewell scored seven points during a 9-0 run that gave Minnesota a 67-43 advantage with 8:16 remaining in the period.
The Timberwolves’ largest lead was 30, as Gary Trent’s jumper midway through the fourth quarter made it 94-64.
Minnesota travels to Miami to meet the Heat on Saturday.
