Memphis started its short road swing on a positive note, as Pau Gasol poured in 37 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 122-115, in double overtime on Saturday at Gund Arena.
Shane Battier added 22 points and 12 boards for the Grizzlies, who overcame a 24-point deficit to snap a three-game slide.
The Cavaliers led 114-113 with 3:29 left in the second overtime on a three- pointer by LeBron James. But the Grizzlies responded with a 9-1 burst to end the game and emerged victorious.
Memphis is 4-5 on the road this season.
The Celtics fell to the Milwaukee Bucks, 100-94, in the second of a home-and- home set Saturday at the Bradley Center.
Mike James, who led the Celtics with 23 points, hit on 7-of-10 from beyond the arc, while Paul Pierce scored 21 to go along with seven assists and seven rebounds, but Boston had a two-game winning streak snapped and fell for the fifth time in seven games.
Boston is 4-4 as the host this season.
Earlier this season, Boston edged the Grizzlies, 93-91, on October 31, 2003 at the Pyramid.
The Celtics have won five straight and nine of the last 12 over the Grizzlies.
Memphis has lost two in a row and four of its last seven meetings in Boston.
