Mercury sign Nikki McCray

04.27.2004

Phoenix, AZ (Basketball News) - The Phoenix Mercury signed three-time All- Star guard Nikki McCray on Tuesday. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

McCray, who is also a two-time Olympian, spent the past two seasons with the Indiana Fever. Last season the 5-11 product from the University of Tennessee averaged a career-low 3.9 points per game.

For her career, which also included a stint with the Washington Mystics, McCray is posting 12.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest.

"Nikki McCray is another tremendous player to add to our growing roster," said Mercury General Manager Seth Sulka. "When you take a look at what she’s done for the WNBA and the game of basketball, you really find that she is a true talent with the ability to really impact this team."
