Cavs open road trip in Toronto

03.8.2006

(Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers will open a four-game road trip tonight when they complete a home-and-home series with the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.

In the opener of the brief set on Tuesday night, Ronald Murray led the Cavs in scoring, not LeBron James, with 24 points in a 106-99 win at Quicken Loans Arena.

It was the first game since a loss at Golden State on January 20 that someone besides James led the Cavaliers in scoring.

James, though, posted 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists for the Cavaliers, who won their third straight contest.

Cleveland, which will travel to Orlando, Miami and Dallas following Wednesday night’s game against Toronto, is 7-4 in its last 11 road games and 13-16 as the guest this season.

The fourth-seeded Cavs have won four of the last five meetings and six of 10 against Toronto. Cleveland has won two in a row at the Air Canada Centre.

Meanwhile, Toronto has lost seven of its last eight games, including Tuesday’s setback in Cleveland. The Raptors have lost six in a row on the road, but will return home for three games against Cleveland, Denver and Indiana.

The Raptors are 5-3 in their last eight home games and own an 11-17 record as the host this season.
