(Basketball News) - The Hornets remained winless this season after a 95-84 loss to the Phoenix Suns at New Orleans Arena.
David Wesley paced New Orleans with 19 points and nine assists. P.J. Brown contributed 12 points and 10 boards for the Hornets, who played without leading scorer Baron Davis. The star guard was placed on the injured list Wednesday with an inflamed disc in his lower back.
The 0-7 record for the Hornets under new head coach Byron Scott extends the worst start in franchise history.
The Hornets tied an NBA record by attempting only two free throws. They only had three against Milwaukee on Saturday.
Darrell Armstrong had 11 points and eight assists for New Orleans, while teammate Jamaal Magloire ended with 10 points and seven rebounds.
New Orleans, which sits in the cellar of the Southwest Division, has two days off before battling Minnesota on Saturday.
