Pistons visit reeling Raptors

The Raptors haven’t won since defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves by a 97-77 score on March 24. Since then, the squad lost 10 straight and star forward Chris Bosh to a thumb injury.

On Wednesday, Morris Peterson paced the Raptors in a 103-96 loss to Orlando with 23 points and eight rebounds. Mike James turned in 21 points, while Charlie Villanueva had 19 points and six boards.

Toronto will open a brief two-game homestand versus Detroit and Indiana before closing out the season in Chicago. The Raptors have lost five straight at home and are 14-25 at the Air Canada Centre this season.

Meanwhile, the Pistons have won two straight and eight of their last nine games, including Wednesday’s 96-73 win over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Rasheed Wallace scored 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince each scored 14 points for Detroit, which tied a franchise-record with 63 wins in a season. The Pistons matched the 63 wins set in the 1988-89 season when they captured the first of consecutive NBA titles.

The Pistons, who have home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs, are 4-1 in their last five road games and 27-12 away from the Palace of Auburn Hills this season.

Friday’s game between Detroit and Toronto is the fourth and final meeting of the season. The Pistons are 3-0 so far this season and have won six straight against Toronto.

The Pistons have won nine of the last 11 meetings and 14 of 17 versus Toronto. Detroit also has won two straight and seven of its last nine at Air Canada Centre.
