Antawn Jamison had 19 points and seven rebounds while Caron Butler netted 12 for the Wizards, who have won two of their last three games.
Al Harrington scored 23 points and Danny Granger finished with 10 points and eight boards for the Pacers, who were playing without Jermaine O’Neal. The center sat out the contest after tweaking his ankle in Tuesday’s win against Philadelphia. Indiana, which committed 25 turnovers, had a two-game winning streak snapped.
Harrington’s layup brought the Pacers within 44-43, but Washington reeled off an 18-4 run, highlighted by Arenas’ four-point play, to take a 62-47 margin into the half.
The Wizards opened up the second half with a 14-3 surge, capped by Jamison’s three-point play, for a 76-50 drubbing.
Darrell Armstrong then drained a trey for the Pacers, but Indiana wouldn’t hit another field goal for 5:14. Washington continued to pour on the points as it upped it’s lead to 94-58 in that span. Jamison and Arenas combined to score 12 points in that stretch.
The Wizards, who outscored the Pacers 37-21 in the third, took a 99-68 lead into the final frame.
Despite tallying only one field goal for a nearly five minutes of the fourth, the Wizards never allowed the Pacers to cut the lead to less than 20.
The Wizards led 33-26 after the first 12 minutes of play.
