Atlanta Hawks Team Report - February 28 02.28.2004
|
(Basketball News) - Two teams destined for the lottery square off this evening in Atlanta, as the Hawks begin a brief two-game homestand against the Orlando Magic at Philips Arena.
Atlanta failed to pick up back-to-back victories on Friday when it found itself on the wrong end of a 105-83 decision against the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Stephen Jackson scored 16 points and Bob Sura tied a season-high with 14 for the Hawks, who have dropped four of their past five contests and fell to 0-18 on the season when they allow at least 100 points.
Atlanta, which will wrap up its set against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, has won two straight and three of its last four games at home and is 12-16 in its gym this season.
The Hawks are just 4-10 in games played on Saturday this season.
Atlanta lost to Orlando earlier in the season, but could have the advantage tonight, as the home team has won nine of the last 11 meetings. However, the Magic’s win over the Hawks back on December 13 came in Dixie.
The Hawks have lost four of their last six against the Magic, but have won four of six in Atlanta against Orlando.
