|
(Basketball News) - The Atlanta Hawks try to win consecutive games for the first time this season when they head to Indiana to tangle with the Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.
On Tuesday, Shareef Abdur-Rahim finished with 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead Atlanta to an 86-77 win over San Antonio. Jason Terry scored 18 points for the Hawks, who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Stephen Jackson registered 16 points, tied a season high with nine rebounds and dished out a career-high seven assists, while Theo Ratliff finished with 13 points for Atlanta, which won for just the fourth time in 17 games.
A win tonight would give the Hawks back-to-back victories for the first time since winning four in a row from April 9-14 of last season.
Atlanta, which has not topped the 100-point mark in its last 14 games, has dropped 13 of its last 15 on the road and is 5-18 away from home this season.
Indiana has defeated the Hawks twice already this season and could have an advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won seven of eight and 13 of the last 15 meetings.
The Pacers have also won four of the last six overall matchups and eight in a row in Indiana.
