(Basketball News) - The Atlanta Hawks missed out on their first chance at back-to-back wins this season on Wednesday, as they dropped an 85-78 decision to the Indiana Pacers.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim paced five Atlanta players in double figures with 16 points. Jason Terry netted 15, while Dion Glover added 13 off the bench for the Hawks, who have lost four of their last five games and were shooting for consecutive victories for the first time since winning four in a row from April 9-14 of last season..
It was the ninth consecutive loss in Indianapolis for the Hawks, who have won just once at Conseco Fieldhouse, which opened in 1999.
Stephen Jackson scored 11 points and Nazr Mohammed had 10 as Atlanta suffered its 14th road loss in 16 tries and fell to 5-19 away from home this season.
Atlanta, which has not topped the 100-point mark in its last 15 games, will start a four-game winning streak on Saturday against Toronto. That game will start a stretch of 11 of 13 in Atlanta for the Hawks before the NBA All-Star break. The only remaining road games for Atlanta before February 18 are in Detroit on January 25 and in Boston on February 6.
