(Basketball News) - The Hawks’ woes continued on Wednesday night, as they suffered a 104-87 beating at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
Al Harrington had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Atlanta, which dropped its ninth straight game on the road and fell to 2-16 away from home this season. Antoine Walker added 15 points in defeat, while Tyronn Lue had 13 points in the losing effort. Tony Delk tacked on 12 points in the contest.
Atlanta, which trailed by 17 heading into the final quarter, did not get closer than 11 in the final 12 minutes and Minnesota cruised to the 17-point triumph.
The Hawks hit 42.5 percent of their shots, including 4-of-13 (.308) from three-point range. Atlanta drained 15-of-21 from the free throw line in the defeat.
Atlanta returns home to host the Miami Heat on Friday night. The Hawks will then head to Memphis to finish up their week’s schedule on Saturday at FedExForum.
