(Basketball News) - Atlanta’s early season woes continued Tuesday night, as it fell 93-79 to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Philips Arena.
Antoine Walker scored 22 points with nine rebounds to lead the winless Hawks (0-4), who were opening their home slate. Walker added a game-high six assists.
Predrag Drobnjak added 19 points off the bench in the loss, and Al Harrington had 14.
Cleveland took the lead for good with a 6-0 run early in the third quarter, pulling ahead 58-57 on Eric Snow’s bucket inside the 8:00 mark. Consecutive three-pointers from James and McInnis extended that advantage to 70-62 with less than three minutes remaining in the third. The Hawks wouldn’t challenge down the stretch.
The Hawks were just 1-of-11 from three-point territory in the contest.
Atlanta has back-to-back days off to circle the wagons before it takes on the New Orleans Hornets at New Orleans Arena on Friday.
