Milwaukee, WI (Basketball News) - Brandon Cotton poured in a game-high 26 points in leading the Detroit Titans to a 61-55 victory over the Wisconsin- Green Bay Phoenix in the semifinal round of the Horizon League Tournament from U.S. Cellular Arena.
Cotton finished the game 9-of-19 from the field and 6-of-10 from the foul line. James Thues added 13 points for the Titans (14-15), who will face top-seeded UW-Milwaukee in the championship game on Tuesday.
Brandon Morris paced the Phoenix (17-11) in defeat with 17 points. Josh Lawrence added 13 points and six boards, while Benito Flores notched a double- double with 12 points and 10 boards in the losing cause.
The Phoenix shot 46.2 percent from the floor in the first half, taking a 31-24 lead into the break.
In the second stanza, Detroit made 50.0 percent of its total shots and 12- of-18 free-throw attempts, as it came from behind for the six-point victory..
Detroit won the battle on the boards, 35-28, in addition to outscoring the Phoenix at the foul line, 18-11.
