Lafayette, LA (Basketball News) - Tiras Wade tallied a game-high 21 points and collected six rebounds in leading the UL-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns to a 67-50 victory over the Florida International Golden Panthers in a Sun Belt Conference matchup from the Cajundome.
Dwayne Mitchell notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards for the Cajuns (10-7, 4-1 SBC), who won their fourth straight tilt. Orien Greene also turned in 11 points and handed out eight assists, while Brian Hamilton contributed 10 points and eight rebounds in the winning cause.
Ismael N’Diaye led the Panthers (7-11, 0-5) with 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor. Ivan Almonte added 11 points and eight boards, as FIU suffered its sixth straight defeat.
The Cajuns opened the game with a 23-5 run en route to a commanding 39-16 lead at intermission.
Although UL-Lafayette shot just 33.3 percent from the floor in the second half, it was still able to cruise to the 17-point victory.
The Cajuns forced 25 turnovers on the night, generating 27 points.
