Nashville, TN (Basketball News) - Eric King poured in a game-high 27 points and ripped down eight boards in leading the Tennessee State Tigers to a 74-68 victory over the Murray State Racers in an Ohio Valley Conference tilt from Nashville.
Bruce Price added 23 points and four assists for the Tigers (12-15, 7-6 OVC), while Rod Flowers contributed 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Trey Pearson paced the Racers (14-10, 9-5) with 19 points and seven assists. Pearson Griffith turned in 14 points and nine rebounds, while Darnell Hopkins chipped in 10 points in the losing cause.
The Racers made 5-of-12 three-point attempts in the first half, taking a 37-35 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Tigers shot a scorching 63.2 percent from the floor, as they claimed the six-point win.
Tennessee State converted 20-of-28 free-throw attempts in the game, while Murray State made just 8-of-12 shots from the foul line.
