Clemson, SC (Basketball News) - Sharrod Ford registered a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Clemson Tigers defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes, 80-73, in an ACC/Big 10 Challenge matchup at the Littlejohn Coliseum.
Olu Babalola netted 17 points while Shawan Robinson and Cliff Hammonds chipped in 14 points apiece for the Tigers (3-1).
Tony Stockman paced Ohio State (5-2) with 22 points. Ivan Harris scored 15 points, Brandon Fuss-Cheatham had 14 points and Terence Dials added 11 points in the losing effort.
The Buckeyes shot 52 percent from the floor in the first half and they took a 36-35 lead over the Tigers into the break.
Clemson hit 14-of-27 shots from the field in the second half and it outscored the Buckeyes 45-37 in the stanza to take the seven-point victory.
The Tigers shot 46.4 percent from the floor in the contest while Ohio State shot 48.2 percent in the first-ever meeting between the clubs.
