Santa Clara, CA (Basketball News) - Glen McGowan poured in a game-high 27 points and ripped down 13 boards in leading the Pepperdine Waves to a 97-93 overtime victory over the Santa Clara Broncos in West Coast Conference play from the Leavey Center.
Alex Acker added a healthy 26 points for Pepperdine (15-12, 5-7 WCC), while Kingsley Costain turned in a career-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor.
Kyle Bailey led the charge for Santa Clara (13-13, 6-5) with 23 points on the strength of 6-of-9 shooting from long range. Travis Niesen tallied 18 points, while Doron Perkins contributed 14 points, eight boards and eight assists in the losing cause.
The Waves shot 48.4 percent from the floor in the first half, opening up a 41-34 lead at the break.
In the second stanza, Santa Clara made 8-of-16 three-point attempts, sending the game into overtime knotted at 82-82.
Pepperdine made 4-of-5 shots from the floor and both of its long-range attempts in overtime, as it earned the four-point victory.
