NCAA Game Summary - Santa Clara at Loyola-Marymount

Los Angeles, CA (Basketball News) - Sherman Gay scored 18 points while leading the Loyola-Marymount Lions to a 66-48 victory over the Santa Clara Broncos in a West Coast Conference clash.

Wes Wardrop tallied 11 points for Loyola-Marymount (12-11, 3-7 WCC), which snapped its two-game losing streak. Charles Brown contributed 10 points in the victory.

Despite committing six turnovers in the matchup, Kyle Bailey scored 12 points for Santa Clara (13-12, 5-5), which has a two-game losing skid. Travis Niesen chipped in just eight points, but collected a game-high 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

The Broncos shot 41.9 percent from the floor in the opening frame and held Loyola to a meager 28.6 shooting percentage to take a 30-25 lead into the break.

The Lions shot 64 percent from the field in the second stanza and used a 16-4 run midway through the half en route to the 18-point victory.

The Lions scored 18 points off 17 Santa Clara turnovers, while the Broncos posted just two points off 11 Loyola miscues. The Lions netted 15-of-20 shots at the foul line on the night, while Santa Clara converted just 4-of-6 from the charity stripe.
