NBA Game Summary - Chicago at Golden State

11.15.2005

Oakland, CA (Basketball News) - Jason Richardson scored 32 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Chicago Bulls 100-82 at The Arena in Oakland.

Five Warriors scored in double figures, as Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy added 15 points while Adonal Foyle grabbed 12 rebounds for Golden State, which at 5-3 is off to its best start since jumping out to a 7-1 record during the 1994-95 season.

Golden State shot 47 percent from the floor and hit 22-of-27 from the foul line.

Andres Nocioni led Chicago with 17 points, as the Bulls shot only 34 percent from the floor and connected on just 8-of-29 three-point attempts.

Jannero Pargo and Luol Deng added 12 and 11 respectively for Chicago, which had won two straight.

"Obviously you’re not going to win many pro games when you shoot 33 percent but they just dominated us all over the floor," Bulls head coach Scott Skiles said. "And then probably the most disappointing thing I thought in the third quarter we quit, so that’s something I’m going to have to address."

After a sluggish opening quarter for both teams ended with the Warriors ahead 23-18, Golden State broke open the game in the final five minutes of the first half.

With Golden State holding a 33-31 advantage, Derek Fisher hit a mid-range jumper. A Richardson three-point play increased the lead to 39-33, and the Warriors outscored the Bulls 10-3 the rest of the half.

Mickael Pietrus scored the final four points of the half after Richardson hit a deep three-pointer off an unselfish look from Fisher.

The Warriors led 49-36 at the break, as Richardson scored 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Nocioni had 12 points for the Bulls, who shot under 30 percent for the half.

The lead grew to as many as 22 points midway through the third quarter. Murphy scored seven points during a 15-6 run that put the game away. The Warriors connected on 6-of-9 to open the period against a Bulls defense that looked a step slow, as Golden State had many opportunities off of dribble penetration.

"Our defense hasn’t been the problem. We’ve been playing good defense all season," said Richardson. "On the offensive end I think we finally put all the things together that we needed to get better."

The Bulls started a six-game road trip while the circus is stationed at the United Center...They are 1-38 in their last 39 November road games...The teams split the season series, as the Bulls won 85-84 at home last Wednesday...The home team has won the last 10 meetings...Pietrus had 12 points and Baron Davis scored 10 for Golden State.
