NBA Game Summary - Indiana at Seattle

12.5.2005

Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - Ray Allen poured in 25 points and added six rebounds and three steals, as the Seattle SuperSonics defeated the Indiana Pacers, 107-102, at KeyArena.

Rashard Lewis added 23 points and six boards for Seattle, which has won three straight. Ronald Murray netted 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting off the bench, while Luke Ridnour posted 13 points and seven assists in the victory.

"We’re starting to get momentum now," Murray said. "We want to continue with the winning streak."

Ron Artest led all scorers with 30 points for the Pacers, who have dropped two of three. Center Jermaine O’Neal chipped in 22 points and Sarunas Jasikevicius had 16 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in the loss.

The Sonics started the second half on a 12-2 run to turn their three-point lead at the break into a 61-48 advantage.

Indiana’s defense quickly stiffened, and Artest’s steal and subsequent layup with 5:09 left in the third quarter whittled Seattle’s edge to just four points.

An Artest free throw moments later made it 72-69, but Seattle finished the third strong to push its lead to 82-73. Murray hit a driving layup with 1:09 remaining and Lewis nailed both of his free throws with just over five ticks left to make it an nine-point game.

That lead soon ballooned to 13 points, as Vladimir Radmonovic put home an alley-oop dunk off an inbound pass from Lewis with 8:58 left remaining in the contest.

Artest helped make it a seven-point game with just over a minute left with a baseline jumper and O’Neal nailed a rare three-pointer to make it 104-98 in the closing seconds. It was too little, too late, however as the Sonics held off Indiana.

Allen scored 16 first-half points to stake the Sonics to a 49-46 after the opening 24 minutes.

Indiana forward Austin Croshere (hip flexor) did not play...Seattle is 7-0 this season when it scores 100-plus points...Seattle, which will close its five-game homestand against the Knicks on Tuesday, is 6-3 in its arena this season...Indiana, which wrapped up a five-game road trip, is 5-4 away from home this season.
