NBA Game Summary - Minnesota at Milwaukee

01.11.2006

Milwaukee, WI (Basketball News) - Michael Redd scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Milwaukee past Minnesota, 95-92, at the Bradley Center.

Jamaal Magloire added 15 points and seven boards while Toni Kukoc chipped in 14 points for the Bucks, who put an end to a three-game losing streak.

"It’s easy to get motivated when we lose three in a row," said Redd. "We were very motivated tonight to win this game. These were two teams that are very hungry, and we got the win."

Marko Jaric had 21 points while Wally Szczerbiak netted 20 for the Timberwolves, who have dropped three straight contests. Kevin Garnett had 14 points and 13 boards while Trenton Hassell also scored 14 points in the loss.

Trailing by five points after three quarters, Szczerbiak’s three-pointer early in the final period pulled Minnesota within five points and the team closed the gap to 87-84 on Jaric’s basket with around four minutes remaining.

Milwaukee, though, quickly distanced itself courtesy of a 6-1 run. Redd scored the final four points of the flurry, which included a jump shot with just under two minutes left that made it 93-85.

However, Minnesota again fought back and climbed within 95-92 on Jaric’s three-point play with 28.2 seconds remaining. Redd then missed an off-balance jumper from the left baseline and the Timberwolves grabbed the defensive rebound with 3.4 seconds left.

Jaric’s three-pointer, though, hit the back rim and fell aimlessly to the court as time ran out.

"I thought that it was a good shot," said Minnesota head coach Dwane Casey. "I thought Marko Jaric had a good look."

Minnesota used a 9-0 run late in the first quarter to snap a tie game, and the Timberwolves eventually led 21-14 after one period.

In the second, Milwaukee stormed back and tied the game at 31 apiece on T.J. Ford’s basket with around seven minutes left in the half. The game stayed tight throughout the quarter and the Bucks held a 48-46 halftime edge.

Andrew Bogut’s hoop early in the third quarter extended the Milwaukee cushion to 60-51, but the visitors closed within three points moments later. The Bucks enjoyed a 68-63 edge after 36 minutes.

Redd has scored at least 20 points in seven straight games...The Timberwolves have dropped seven straight road games...The teams split the season-series, although this was only the Bucks’ second win in the last 14 meetings with Minnesota...The Timberwolves are now 9-3 in its last 12 trips to Milwaukee...The Bucks are 8-0 this year in games decided by three points or less, while Minnesota fell to 0-5 in the same scenario.
