Toronto, ON (Basketball News) - Andre Iguodala scored a game-high 26 points and Kyle Korver added 23, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 107-80 win over the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.
Iguodala scored 13 points in the third quarter for the Sixers, who rebounded from a loss to Miami and posted their fifth win in six games. Allen Iverson wasn’t needed late in the game and finished with 18 points while Samuel Dalembert chipped in 11 points and a game-high 18 rebounds in the win.
"It’s good to see Sam (Dalembert) rebound like that," said 76ers head coach Maurice Cheeks, who has been stressing the team’s need for boards this season. "That’s what we need."
Chris Bosh paced the Raptors with 22 points and seven boards. Charlie Villanueva had 15 points off the bench for Toronto, losers of three straight.
"Four and 20, not getting it done," said disgruntled Raptors forward Jalen Rose, who ended with two points in only 12 minutes of action.
The Raptors, who have dropped six in a row at home, are a miserable 1-12 at the Air Canada Centre this season.
Iguodala threw down one of many jams in the third quarter, and his windmill dunk extended Philadelphia’s lead to 67-51 with seven minutes remaining in the stanza. A pair of Webber foul shots later made it 78-54 and the 76ers led by an 80-62 score after three quarters of play.
"He was instrumental in getting easy baskets, dunks, layups," Cheeks said of Iguodala. "He’s a very important part of this team."
The rout was on after Shavlik Randolph contributed a driving dunk for a 101-70 advantage with less than four minutes left in the game.
Toronto grabbed an early 11-4 lead, but the 76ers fought back and grabbed a 19-18 edge on an Iguodala three-pointer with about two minutes left in the first quarter. Philadelphia then led by a 27-21 score after 12 minutes.
Villanueva knocked down a three-pointer with less than five minutes to go before halftime, pulling the Raptors within 43-42. Philadelphia then carried a slim 52-48 lead into the locker room.
Korver led all scorers at halftime with 17 points and Iverson added 14. Bosh led the Raptors with 15 points while Villanueva had 13.
