NBA Game Summary - Toronto at Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA (Basketball News) - Chris Bosh poured in a game-high 31 points as the Toronto Raptors used a brilliant fourth quarter to beat a short- handed Philadelphia club, 111-97, at the Wachovia Center.

The Sixers were without the services of All-Star guard Allen Iverson, who missed the game with a sprain and contusion of the right foot. The Georgetown product has been having one of his best seasons and is averaging 33.2 points and 7.4 assists per game.

Darrick Martin added season-highs of 18 points and 12 assists for the Raptors, who won their second straight game. Mike James, Morris Peterson and rookie Joey Graham all netted 14 points and Matt Bonner tallied 10 in the win.

John Salmons recorded a career-high 23 points for the Sixers, who lost for the fourth time in five games. Chris Webber also scored 23 points and added 11 rebounds in the loss. Andre Iguodala donated 19 points while Matt Barnes had 14 for Philadelphia.

Toronto started the final frame on fire. After Barnes opened the quarter with a hook, the Raptors responded with a 16-0 run to take control of the game. Martin connected on a three to open the flurry and James capped it with a trey of his own to put Toronto up 94-87 with 7:45 left.

Sixteen seconds later, Webber finally stopped the bleeding, momentarily, with a short hook.

But, the Sixers’ shoddy perimeter defense ensured that there would be no comeback. Martin’s triple with 6:23 on the clock made the score 97-89.

Bonner’s three, with 5:10 remaining, gave Toronto its first 10-point cushion, 102-91.

Charlie Villanueva’s alley-oop dunk, with 2:20 on the clock, gave the Raptors their largest lead of the night, 109-93.

The Sixers took a slim 30-28 advantage after the first 12 minutes. The Raptors responded and edged ahead at the half, 54-53. Bosh paced Toronto with 17 points at intermission while Webber had 13 for Philadelphia.

The Sixers regained the lead, 85-78, with an excellent third quarter.
