Blazers have Miles to go

01.22.2005

Portland, OR (Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers have activated forward Darius Miles from the injured list, and he is slated to play in the Blazers’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Miles missed eight games with a left knee medial contusion suffered January 5 against the L.A. Clippers. He will enter Saturday’s game averaging 13.6 points and 5.1 rebounds in 29 games.

Miles was originally selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the third overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. Miles, who never attended college, starred at East St. Louis High School in Illinois.

To make room for Miles, the Trail Blazers placed Ha Seung Jin on the injured list with lower back pain. The 7-foot-3 center, the National Basketball Association’s first South Korean, played sparingly after being signed earlier this month.
