Bucks’ Ford to have surgery

04.23.2004

Milwaukee, WI (Basketball News) - Milwaukee Bucks rookie point guard T.J. Ford, who has been out of action since February 24 with a bruised spinal cord, has decided to undergo cervical spine surgery next month.

Ford sat out the last 22 regular season games and will miss the postseason with the injury, which was sustained during a February 24 contest versus Minnesota.

After seeing a number of doctors over the last six weeks, Ford decided to opt for the surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for next season.

The eighth overall selection in the 2003 NBA Draft, Ford averaged 7.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 6.5 assists over 55 games this season.
