Gill is expected to be in uniform on Tuesday when Milwaukee travels to Indiana to face the Pacers.
"Kendall is a proven veteran who can come in and help us right away," said general manager Larry Harris. "The depth on our roster has been effected by injuries, and we think that Kendall can be a productive player for us and help us restore some of our depth."
Gill is a 14-year NBA veteran. He was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the fifth overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft and has also enjoyed stints with Seattle, New Jersey, Miami, Minnesota and Chicago.
In 952 career games, Gill has averaged 13.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest.
Meanwhile, the club placed center Daniel Santiago on the injured list with a corneal abrasion in his right eye. Santiago has missed the last three games with the injury, suffered during practice on November 29.
