Bucks try to cool off red-hot Bulls

12.15.2006

(Basketball News) - The resurgent Chicago Bulls try to keep up their stellar recent form when the Milwaukee Bucks invade the United Center this evening for a matchup between Central Division foes.

Chicago won for the 10th time in 11 tries with Wednesday’s 99-84 victory over Seattle at the United Center. Ben Gordon led the way with 27 points, while Ben Wallace had his most productive game since joining the Bulls during the offseason.

Wallace set season-highs with 15 points and 20 rebounds while adding five blocks to help Chicago beat Seattle at home for the first time since 1998.

Andres Nocioni scored 20 points and Kirk Hinrich had 14 along with eight assists for the Bulls, who improved to 6-1 on their current eight-game homestand.

Chicago will play at Atlanta on Saturday before returning home to take on the Lakers on Tuesday.

Milwaukee has won three of its last five, but comes in off a 13-point defeat Wednesday at New Jersey. Vince Carter poured in 36 points to fuel the Nets to a 108-95 triumph.

Charlie Villanueva chipped in 23 points and Maurice Williams donated 17 while dishing out six assists for the Bucks. Star guard Michael Redd finished the night with just nine points, marking the first time in 101 games he failed to reach double figures.

Milwaukee has now lost three straight on the road and is just 4-9 away from home on the season.

The Bucks have also had trouble at the United Center in recent years, as Milwaukee has dropped four of its last five and nine of its last 11 in the Windy City.

Chicago earned a 110-85 decision over the Bucks at the United Center back in November.
