Bucks try to halt losing streak versus Sixers

02.24.2006

(Basketball News) - The Milwaukee Bucks attempt to halt a three-game losing streak tonight when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at the Bradley Center.

In Wednesday’s 97-91 loss to the Chicago Bulls, Michael Redd scored 30 points for Milwaukee, which lost its fourth game in five tries. Charlie Bell netted 15 points, while Bobby Simmons added 14 for the Bucks.

Milwaukee, which has a long shot at reaching the playoffs, has dropped seven straight on the road. Its last win on the road was on January 20th at Atlanta.

The Bucks will return to the Bradley Center, where they are 17-10 this season and have won six of their last seven games.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia is holding on to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. It did so by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 116-107 Wednesday night from the Wachovia Center.

Allen Iverson added 29 points and 12 assists, while Andre Iguodala scored 25 points for the Sixers, who won for just the third time in their last nine outings. Chris Webber recorded 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Philly’s win was its first all season against a Central Division opponent at home (1-4). On the year, Philadelphia is 3-7 overall against the Central.

The Sixers, though, lost center Samuel Dalembert to an ankle injury. The big center sprained his ankle.

Philadelphia has lost three in a row on the road and is 9-16 as the guest this season.

Milwaukee has won all three meetings versus the 76ers this season, including an 88-85 triumph at Philadelphia on December 7th. Philadelphia, though, has won five of eight and 10 of its last 14 at Milwaukee.
