On August 9, the Toronto Raptors signed Duhon to an offer sheet and the Bulls had seven days to decide if they wanted to match the deal.
"Chris was an integral part of our success last season and we’re excited to have him back," said executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson.
"The opportunity to retain our continuity and see our young team grow together has been a key offseason focus for us, and this is a step in that direction."
Duhon appeared in all 82 games, starting 73, for Chicago in 2004-05 and helped the Bulls to their first playoff appearance since Michael Jordan left the franchise following the 1997-98 season.
The former Duke standout, who was selected with the 38th overall pick in the 2004 draft, ranked seventh in the NBA with a 3.34 assist-to-turnover ratio. He also averaged 5.9 points and a rookie-best 4.9 assists in 26.5 minutes per contest.
