Bulls place Fizer on IL

Chicago, IL (Basketball News) - The Chicago Bulls placed forward Marcus Fizer on the injured list and signed forward Paul Shirley to a 10-day contract on Thursday.

Fizer has a sprained left ankle. He has appeared in 36 games this year, averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds.

Shirley joins the Bulls from the ABA’s Kansas City Knights, where he was averaging 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in 20 games.

The 6-10, 235-pound Shirley played college ball at Iowa State, where he was a teammate with Fizer for three seasons. He appeared in two games last season with the Atlanta Hawks.
