04.13.2007

(Basketball News) - The Chicago Bulls continue to battle for playoff positioning, as they welcome the Charlotte Bobcats tonight to the United Center for their final home game of the regular season.

Chicago is tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoff standings.

The Bulls wrap up a two-game homestand this evening. On Tuesday, Ben Gordon scored 23 points and dished out seven assists as Chicago crushed the New York Knicks, 98-69, at the United Center.

Luol Deng poured in 15 points, while Kirk Hinrich netted 13 for Chicago, which has won eight of its last 10 games overall. Thabo Sefolosha finished with 10 points, while Ben Wallace had 10 rebounds and five assists for the Bulls.

Chicago is an impressive 30-10 at home this season. The Bulls wrap up the campaign with a pair of road games against the Washington Wizards and New Jersey Nets.

Charlotte tries to make it three wins in a row, as it opens a short two-game road trip. On Tuesday, Gerald Wallace scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lift the Bobcats over the Miami Heat, 92-82, at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

Walter Herrmann poured in 20 points and Derek Anderson scored 17 off the bench for the Bobcats, who also pulled out a 111-103 overtime victory against the Heat last Sunday. Emeka Okafor had 11 points and 10 boards for Charlotte, which has won six of its last eight games overall, but has been eliminated from playoff contention.

Rookie forward Adam Morrison (sprained tendon in left knee) is questionable for tonight’s contest. Morrison is averaging 11.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 77 games this season.

The Bobcats are just 12-27 on the road this season. They will visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday at the Bradley Center before finishing up the regular season at home against the Knicks.

The Bulls and Charlotte have split a pair of games this season. The Bobcats have won three of the last five games in the series, but have lost four of the five meetings at Chicago.
