Bulls try to get back on winning track against Indiana

01.14.2006

(Basketball News) - The Chicago Bulls try to get back on the winning track this evening when they kick off a four-game homestand against the Indiana Pacers at the United Center.

Chicago saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday, as it dropped a 99-93 decision to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center. Andres Nocioni had 23 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls, who fell for the ninth time in their last 12 games.

Ben Gordon netted 19 points while Kirk Hinrich posted 17 points, a career-high 17 assists and eight boards in the loss.

On the injury front Chris Duhon is bothered by a sore foot, but should be ready to go tonight.

The Bulls, who will also host Denver, New York and Houston on this stand, are 7-10 in their building this season.

Indiana, meanwhile, comes in on a sour note after falling to the Washington Wizards, 94-85, on Friday at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Jermaine O’Neal netted 20 points and seven rebounds and Fred Jones added 14 points for the Pacers, who have lost two of their last three games. Jeff Foster had 10 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

Seven fourth quarter turnovers, including three in the last 3 1/2 minutes, squashed the Pacers chances of pulling out the home victory.

The Pacers, who will close a brief two-game road trip in New Jersey on Monday, are 8-10 away from home this season.

Chicago split its four matchups with the Pacers last season, but should hold the advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won 11 of 12 and 13 of the last 15 meetings. Indiana has also lost two straight and five of its last six in the Windy City.
