Cavaliers extend Pavlovic

10.31.2005

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Monday that the club has picked up the option for the 2006-07 season on swingman Sasha Pavlovic.

Pavlovic averaged 4.8 points, 1.1 rebounds and 13.3 minutes in 65 games last season for the Cavaliers, who acquired the 21-year-old from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for a future first-round draft pick on June 23, 2004.

"Sasha is a talented young player," said Cleveland general manager Danny Ferry. "With continued hard work, Sasha can play an important part in our team’s future."

Pavlovic was selected by Utah with the 19th overall pick in the 2003 draft and was later taken by the Bobcats in the 2004 expansion draft.
