Cavaliers sign Brown, Gibson

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers signed draft picks Shannon Brown and Daniel Gibson to contracts early Saturday. Terms of the deals were not announced.

The 20-year-old Brown was taken with the 25th overall pick in the 2006 draft after garnering All-Big Ten Second Team honors at Michigan State last season. He averaged 17.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest during his junior campaign in East Lansing.

Gibson was Cleveland’s selection with the 42nd pick on draft night, giving the club a player that can play both guard positions. The 21-year-old Gibson recorded 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season for Texas.
