Cavaliers try extend winning streak at Milwaukee

(Basketball News) - Central Division rivals square off tonight, as the streaking Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at the Bradley Center.

Cleveland goes for its fourth straight win, as it wraps up a two-game road trip. Superstar LeBron James poured in a season-high 41 points, pulled down seven rebounds, dished out eight assists and had three steals to lead the Cavaliers over the Detroit Pistons, 101-97, in overtime on Wednesday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Drew Gooden posted 22 points and 10 boards in the win over Detroit for the Cavaliers, who have won three straight and four of their last five games overall. Zydrunas Ilgauskas netted 14 and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Larry Hughes contributed 12 points, eight boards and six assists in the victory.

The Cavaliers are 13-17 on the road this season. The return home to host the Indiana Pacers on Sunday and the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena.

Central-Division-leading Detroit is 2 1/2 games ahead of the second-place Cavaliers.

Milwaukee attempts to make it two wins in a row as it plays the second of a season-long seven-game homestand. Charlie Villanueva scored a season-high 26 points and Andrew Bogut had 22 points to lead the Bucks over a shorthanded Lakers squad, 110-90, on Wednesday at the Bradley Center.

Charlie Bell added 20 points for the Bucks, who ended a two-game slide and took advantage of Los Angeles playing without Kobe Bryant, who was serving a one-game suspension.

The Bucks, who have won three of their last four games at the Bradley Center, are 14-13 at home this season. They will also host Toronto, San Antonio, Charlotte, the Clippers and Detroit on the current homestand.

This is the third of four contests between the division rivals this season. The Cavaliers won the two previous contests and have won five straight overall in the series.

The Cavaliers have won two in a row at Milwaukee.

Cleveland is scheduled to host the Bucks on April 18th at Quicken Loans Arena.
