=== Dallas Mavericks Team Report - January 28 ===

(Basketball News) - The Dallas Mavericks try to extend their season-high winning streak to 10 games tonight when they wrap up a brief two-game road trip against the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center.

The Mavs’ latest win came on Tuesday, as Dirk Nowitzki had a career-high 43 points, but his effort was overshadowed by Antoine Walker’s fade-away jumper that beat the buzzer and gave the Dallas a dramatic 118-116 triumph over Seattle.

Nowitzki hit 8-of-11 from three-point territory and 16-of-22 from the field overall, but missed a pair of free throws with 21.8 seconds remaining that would have given the Mavericks a two-point lead.

Seattle’s Ray Allen was then blocked by Michael Finley at the other end with less than two ticks left, much to the dismay of a packed KeyArena crowd.

After a timeout, Walker took the inbounds pass on the wing and drained a long jumper over Vladimir Radmanovic for the win.

Walker had 17 points for Dallas, which is in the midst of its longest win streak since opening the 2002-03 season 14-0. Finley added 17 points and Steve Nash scored 19 with eight assists.

On the injury front Dallas is expected to have center Danny Fortson back in the lineup tonight. Fortson has missed the last three games after having a tooth extracted. Also, Marquis Daniels could return after missing the last six games with the flu.

The Mavs have won five straight on the road and are 9-13 away from home this season.

The Jazz have split their two meetings with the Mavs this season and have won two of the last three in the series. Dallas, though, has won three of five, six of nine and eight of the last 13 matchups, including two straight and five of eight in Utah.
