(Basketball News) - The Mavericks fell 91-88 to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday evening, as they saw their nine-game win streak come to an end.
Michael Finley poured in 29 points to pace the Mavericks, who suffered their first setback since January 11 in Detroit. Dirk Nowitzki added 17 points on just 6-of-14 shooting, coming off a career-best 43 points on Tuesday in Seattle.
Antoine Walker, who was the hero the previous night with the game-winning shot against the Sonics, had a chance to tie Wednesday’s game with a three-pointer, but it fell short. Walker struggled on the night, scoring just six points on 3-of-10 shooting. The former Boston Celtic finished with eight assists
Dallas shot 8-of-23 from three-point land, including a 5-for-8 effort by Finley. The Mavericks were also 12-of-12 from the free throw line.
Dallas has back-to-back days off before taking on the Denver Nuggets Saturday night.
