Duncan scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help San Antonio pick up their third NBA championship in seven years. The 29-year-old power forward has won the Finals MVP in all three of the franchise’s NBA title seasons.
Duncan is the fourth player in league history to win three NBA Finals MVPs, joining Michael Jordan (6), Magic Johnson (3) and Shaquille O’Neal.
"This trophy is definitely an honor, but this team has so many MVPs," said Duncan. "There are just some many different guys here that just laid it on the line."
Duncan shot just 10-of-27 from the field, but scored 17 of his points in the second half of Game 7.
In the Finals, Duncan averaged 20.5 points, 14.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks.
