(Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors lost to the New Orleans Hornets, 98-89, on Wednesday. The Warriors are 1-1 on their current four-game road trip.
Troy Murphy posted 25 points and 12 boards for the Warriors, picking up the scoring slack for Speedy Claxton, who had just four of his 21 points in the second half. Claxton also established a season-high with 12 helpers for Golden State, which fell for the third time in seven tries.
Claxton notched his second double-double in as many nights after registering 18 points and 10 assists in Tuesday’s win over Dallas. The Warriors have dropped eight straight on the road against the Hornets.
Murphy has scored in double-digits in four straight games. He is averaging 18 points and 9.8 rebounds in that span.
The Warriors are off until Friday when they visit Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets. Last season, the teams split four games.
