(Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors welcome the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday to The Arena in Oakland for the first of a brief two-game homestand. The Warriors will host the Detroit Pistons on Sunday

It will be the first meeting of the season between the Warriors and Hawks. The teams will meet once more in the 2004-05 campaign, as Atlanta is scheduled to host Golden State on March 12th at Philips Arena.

Overall, Golden State has won four straight contests, while the Hawks have won eight of 14 and 11 of the last 18 meetings in this series. Atlanta has lost two straight and six of its last nine at Golden State.

The Warriors went into the All-Star break on a winning note, as they stunned the Seattle SuperSonics, 117-110, on February 16th at KeyArena. Jason Richardson poured in a game-high 30 points in the win over the Sonics, while Derek Fisher netted 21 and dished out seven assists.

Speedy Claxton finished with 17 points and 11 assists against Seattle, while Dale Davis provided a spark off the bench, recording a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who snapped a three-game skid. Forward Mike Dunleavy tallied 13 points in the victory.

Golden State is 4-28 when it scores under 100 points this season.

The Warriors are 10-17 as the host this season. Golden State has lost two straight and six of its last seven at home.

Richardson leads the Warriors in scoring (22.6 ppg), while Troy Murphy, who is on the injured list with a thumb injury, is averaging a team-best 11.2 rebounds and Claxton has posted a team-high 6.1 assists per game.

After Sunday’s game against Detroit, the Warriors will embark on an eight-game road trip that starts on March 1st against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum. Golden State will also visit the Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers and the Hawks.
