=== Golden State Warriors Team Report - January 2 ===

(Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors found themselves on the wrong end of a 97-88 decision to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday at the Rose Garden.

Troy Murphy delivered 19 points and 17 rebounds for the Warriors, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Mike Dunleavy posted 12 points and 11 boards.

Clifford Robinson also scored 12 points for Golden State, which played without injured guard Jason Richardson, who is day-to-day with a sprained left ankle.

After the Warriors forced a 78-78 tie, the Trail Blazers notched the next four points. Bo Outlaw’s dunk, with 5:05 left, put them ahead 82-78.

Down the stretch, the Warriors got within two points, but no closer. Portland scored seven straight points to go ahead 89-82 with 1:26 to go.

Speedy Claxton registered 11 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds for the Warriors, who have lost 13 of their last 14 in Portland.

The Warriors return to action on Monday versus the Philadelphia 76ers. Golden State has won its last three home games with Philadelphia but dropped eight of 12 against the 76ers overall.
