Memphis tries to put the brakes on a two-game losing streak when it visits the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday at ARCO Arena. The Grizzlies have lost 14 straight at Sacramento, and are 1-19 as the visitor against the Kings.
The last time the Grizzlies beat the Kings on the road was on April 19, 1998.
It is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On January 10th, Mike Miller registered a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, as Memphis defeated the Kings, 99-85, at FedExForum. Sacramento has still won 12 of 15 and 17 of the last 21 meetings in this series
Memphis plays the second of a season-long six-game road trip against the Kings. On Saturday, Michael Redd scored 23 points as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Grizzlies, 88-78, at the Bradley Center.
Pau Gasol paced the Grizzlies with 19 points and 12 rebounds and Mike Miller and Brain Cardinal scored 12 apiece in the loss to the Bucks for Memphis, which has lost four of their last five games overall.
The Grizzlies, who will also visit Phoenix, the Clippers, Lakers and Golden State on the current swing, are 11-12 as the visitor this season. They have dropped three in a row on the road.
Gasol, who leads the Grizzlies in scoring (19.7 ppg) and rebounding (9.2 rpg), has scored in double-digits in nine straight contests. He has recorded four double-doubles in a row. The 7-0 Gasol is averaging 19.2 points and 8.8 rebounds in his last 10 outings.
Memphis is 7-2 when it scores 100 or more points this season.
