Grizzlies try to get back on winning track vs. Spurs 02.24.2006

On Thursday, the Grizzlies blew a 19-point lead in falling to the Dallas Mavericks, 97-87, at the American Airlines Center. Pau Gasol and Bobby Jackson both netted 18 points for the Grizzlies, who saw their four-game winning streak halted.
Chucky Atkins contributed 12 points while Shane Battier added 11 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort.
The loss dropped Memphis to just 1-5 this season against Dallas and San Antonio - the two teams ahead of it in the Southwest Division.
The Grizzlies, who will visit Minnesota on Sunday, are 17-8 in their arena this season.
San Antonio, meanwhile, comes in on a winning note after Tony Parker tallied 30 points to help the Spurs rout the Seattle Supersonics, 103-78, on Tuesday at the AT&T Center.
Tim Duncan recorded 13 points and 16 rebounds for the Spurs, who won for the first time since losing two in a row before the All-Star break. Bruce Bowen tallied 17 points, shooting 5-of-9 from three-point territory
Nazr Mohammed started in place of Rasho Nesterovic for the first time this season and finished with 11 points and five rebounds in 21 minutes. Over his last eight games, Mohammed is averaging 8.1 rebounds compared to Nesterovic’s 4.9 per game.
The Spurs, who return home for four games after tonight’s tilt, are 19-9 away from home this season.
San Antonio has defeated the Grizz twice already this season and has won three of the last four meetings. The Spurs have also won 14 of 18 as the road team in this series.
