Hawks hit the road for two games

03.13.2006

(Basketball News) - The Atlanta Hawks are 20 games below the .500 mark and will take their woes to the road for a brief two-game trip.

Atlanta plays the first contest Monday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

In their last game on Saturday versus Chicago, Al Harrington posted 32 points and 10 boards in a 95-90 loss. The Hawks, who have dropped three of four, got 22 points from star Joe Johnson against the Bulls.

Johnson has been stellar in his first season with Atlanta. Johnson is one of four players in the NBA to average better than 20 points and six assists this season, joining LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Allen Iverson.

Meanwhile, Hawks reserve Josh Childress missed his third straight game because of a sprained ankle. Childress was injured in a home loss to Sacramento last month and had a streak of 11 straight games scoring in double figures halted.

Monday’s game is the third meeting of the season between Atlanta and Milwaukee. In the two previous contests, the Bucks defeated the Hawks twice at Philips Arena.

The Bucks have won four in a row in this series. Atlanta has lost three straight and 12 of its last 13 contests at Milwaukee.

The Hawks, who will visit the New York Knicks on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden, are a dismal 7-22 on the road this season.

Atlanta will be returning home for Friday night’s game against Utah.
