Charlotte ended a two-game losing streak with Tuesday’s 96-92 win over the New Jersey Nets in the opener of the trip at Continental Airlines Arena. Rookie Adam Morrison poured in 22 points and dished out five assists in the win.
Sean May chipped in 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists off the bench for the Bobcats, who are 2-5 on the road this season. Primoz Brezec tallied 13 points while Gerald Wallace and Raymond Felton had 12 apiece.
Meanwhile, the Hawks have lost two straight and six of their last seven games, including Tuesday’s 96-95 loss to the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.
Joe Johnson had 33 points and Tyronn Lue, who played for Washington from 2001-03, was the other Hawk in double figures with 18 points. Atlanta will now host Charlotte and Cleveland and is 3-3 at Philips Arena this season.
The Bobcats won three of four games against the Hawks last season and are 6-2 overall against them.
